Introduction
I'm a longtime fan and dabbler in comics (particularly manga) and I'm interested in becoming a more consistent, serious creator. I'm also a graphic design major and a writer.
What do you wish to gain from attending this meetup?
Feedback, tips & pointers, meeting people who I can share interests with and who sympathise with artistic dilemmas and all that jazz. :)
What are your skills concerning comic production?
My writing skills are much more highly developed than my art skills, so my characters have emotional complexity (and talk a lot...well, that's also a weakness.) My anatomy and proportions aren't too bad. I love designing clothing.
What are your weaknesses concerning comic production?
Not enough detail in backgrounds! Also perspective, poses and correct use of shading. Oh, and clothing folds! Darned wrinkles...
If you could choose one comic company to work for (assuming you would not get cheated on royalties), who would you want to work for?
Currently Yen Press and Go!Comi are putting out some nice things and seem willing to work with American manga artists, which is promising...but I'm just dreaming at this point!
